The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has successfully received Adinda Akpo Abdul Mugibo, a notorious fugitive who had been on the police wanted list since 2022, following a coordinated arrest and extradition by the Togolese Police Force (TPF) and Interpol in Lomé, Togo.

Mugibo, also known by several aliases including Rashid Bawa, Maxwell, Papa Rich, and Dawa, was handed over to Ghanaian authorities after years of evading capture. The dual national—holding both Ghanaian and Togolese identification—was arrested during a well-planned joint security operation involving the TPF, Interpol, and officers from the GPS.

The suspect is accused of a series of targeted robberies in elite residential areas of Accra, where he allegedly operated alone, using calculated methods to evade security systems. His criminal activities were captured on CCTV, which proved instrumental in identifying and tracking his movements.

According to police reports, Mugibo gained notoriety for his ability to infiltrate high-end neighborhoods, robbing individuals of valuables and disappearing without a trace. His sophisticated modus operandi and ability to operate under multiple aliases allowed him to remain at large for an extended period, frustrating law enforcement efforts.

His arrest marks a significant milestone in the fight against cross-border crime and underscores the importance of international cooperation in tackling organized criminal networks.

The Ghana Police Service expressed its gratitude to the Togolese authorities and Interpol for their crucial support and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring justice is served. Mugibo is currently in custody and is expected to face a series of charges in connection with the robberies.

Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to uncover the full extent of his criminal activities.
