Tottenham Hotspur forward Mohammed Kudus has withdrawn from the Ghana Black Stars squad ahead of the team’s upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia.
Kudus was named in head coach Carlos Queiroz’s squad for the upcoming international fixtures but has now pulled out of the team for the qualifiers scheduled for next week.
The withdrawal comes as a setback for the Black Stars, with Kudus having established himself as an important member of the national team in recent years.
Ghana are set to face Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia as they begin their campaign to secure qualification for the 2027 AFCON tournament.
The Ghana Football Association is expected to provide further details on the reason for Kudus’ withdrawal and whether a replacement will be called up to the squad.
Kudus’ absence will leave Queiroz with an important selection decision as Ghana prepare for the crucial qualifiers.
