In a heartwarming moment that celebrates loyalty to local football, the Accra Hearts of Oak Die-Hard Supporters’ Union paid a special visit to a young student, Vivian, at Agogo State College today.
The visit followed a viral video captured by Pellasco Mediaa, which showed Vivian boldly naming Black Stars and Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare as her number one favorite footballer during a classroom discussion.
According to the story shared in the video, a teacher had asked students in the class to mention their favorite football players. While many of her classmates mentioned internationally celebrated stars playing in Europe, Vivian stood out as the only student who proudly chose a local player from the Ghana Premier League.
Without hesitation, she mentioned Benjamin Asare of Accra Hearts of Oak as her favorite.
Her response quickly captured the admiration of many football lovers on social media after the video surfaced online. Many praised her for supporting local football and recognizing talent within the Ghana Premier League.
Moved by her passion and loyalty, the Accra Hearts of Oak Die-Hard Supporters’ Union, led by Apostle, decided to visit Vivian at her school to appreciate her.
During the visit, the supporters presented Vivian with an original Hearts of Oak jersey as a symbol of appreciation for her unwavering support for the club and local football. In addition, they gifted her an amount of GH₵1,000 to encourage her.
The moment brought excitement to the school as students and teachers gathered to witness the surprise gesture.
Members of the supporters’ union applauded Vivian for promoting Ghanaian football at a time when many young fans often idolize only foreign players and leagues.
They noted that her choice reflects the importance of supporting the Ghana Premier League and the local talents who continue to work hard to make the country proud.
Vivian’s story has since become an inspiring reminder that local football still has passionate supporters among the younger generation—and that sometimes, a simple classroom answer can spark a moment of national admiration.
