The announcement came after Barcelona’s 5-3 defeat to Villarreal on Saturday, further intensifying the pressure that had been building on Xavi due to a series of disappointing results in recent weeks.
Addressing the media, Xavi confirmed his departure plans, stating, “I would like to announce that on June 30, I will not continue as coach of Barca. It is a decision that I have made with the president and Rafa Yuste. The situation deserves a change of course. It can’t continue.”
