Bribery allegations against WRFA – Kojo Yankah alleges

Speaking on the approaching GFA elections and the Western Regional Football Association, Mr. Kojo Yankah, the previous president of the organization on Monday, August 14, 2023, in the late afternoon, he talked on the Takoradi-based radio program Power Sport on Radio 360, 90.1 with host Sampson Abban (SHAMMO).

Shammo questioned Mr. Yankah about his ability to complete his election-related paperwork. He said Kurt Okraku was terrified of him. He ought to have delivered the electoral roadmap sooner—possibly a month beforehand—but he only did it because he was afraid of me. He is aware that I’m not in the country.

Mr. Yankah reiterated that Kurt Okraku, the current GFA boss, is egotistical and that he is furious about what has occurred.

He claimed that Kurt Okraku is egotistical and a mafia figure and that he would back George Afriyie in ousting him.

Shammo questioned him about Kurt receiving support from all ten areas to keep his seat. Mr. Yankah responded that Mr. Fuga, who was affiliated with Accra Great Olympics, lost the election at GFA because his own people cast ballots against him. There is truth to the fear delegate syndrome.

Given that Kurt has the support of ten Regional Football Association Chairmen, he said that this is a mafia-run election. He reiterated that the ten RFA chairmen are afraid of him.

As a previous chairman, Shammo questioned him once more about the approaching Western Regional Football Association elections. Mr. Yankah remarked that although I have no opinion on the elections, he will see to it that Mr. Simon Eheomah, the incumbent, is disqualified. He has seven charges or allegations against Mr. Eheomah and he would be disqualified. He was absolutely clear in his statement.

One of the seven cases he claims to have against Mr. Eheomah is that his secretary accepted a bribe from a Western North team during the just concluded Super Middle League Tournament, according to him. He claimed that Mr. Eheomah went to return the funds. He reiterated that if they take him to court and believe that it is only an allegation, he will fight back boot for boot.

Shammo questioned him once more regarding the elections and Bismark Owusu Mensah and Simon Eheomah. He claimed that Simon Eheomah can not run the RFA as well as Bismark, who is significantly superior to the current leader and has integrity.

He concluded by promising to travel to Ghana for the elections in order to support Bismark Owusu Mensah and George Afriyie.
