The much-anticipated CAF Awards 2023 are rapidly approaching, and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled the list of nominees for the men’s categories.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place on December 11, 2023, in Marrakech, Morocco, and preparations are in full swing to celebrate the exceptional talent and achievements of African football players, officials, and administrators.
A panel consisting of CAF Technical Experts, African Football Legends, and selected media representatives from various countries diligently compiled the preliminary list of nominees.
The nominees’ performances between November 2022 and September 2023 have been taken into consideration, marking the period under review.
Among the notable categories, thirty players are in contention for the prestigious CAF African Player of the Year award.
Simultaneously, twenty players have earned nominations for the CAF Interclub Player of the Year. Additionally, categories such as Coach of the Year, CAF National Team of the Year, and Club of the Year have ten nominees each, while the CAF Young Player of the Year, designed for players under the age of 21, features budding talents.
In a historic move, CAF has introduced the CAF African Goalkeeper of the Year category for both men and women. This recognition highlights the exceptional performances of goalkeepers and expands the scope of award categories for the annual event.

Recalling the last CAF Awards Gala held in July 2022 in Rabat, Morocco, Sadio Mane of Senegal was crowned CAF African Player of the Year, while Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala earned the title of CAF African Women’s Player of the Year for an impressive fifth time.
As football enthusiasts eagerly await the CAF Awards Gala in December, the nominees represent the finest talents in African football, and the event promises to be a celebration of their dedication, skill, and hard work on the pitch.
