The Wassa East District’s Daboase Senior High Technical School placed first in the Western Region of the 2022 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
The top-performing school was Daboase Senior High Technical School, which had a 99.72% overall pass rate. With a pass rate of 98.26%, they were ranked ahead of Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS), which was ranked second.
Based on the average percentage of core subjects passed (A1-C6) for all second-cycle schools in the Western Region in 2022, this ranking was created.

DABOASE SENIOR HIGH TECHNICAL SCHOOL’S SHORT HISTORY
One of the community schools founded in the early 1990s is Daboase Senior High Technical School. On January 28, 1991, the school was primarily founded to provide students with agriculture, technical education, and home economics with practical skills. In the beginning, there were five (5) students—two (2) males and three (3) girls—but by May 1991, there were forty-six (46). The number of students is currently over 450.
The school is situated at Daboase, in the Wassa East District’s. Daboase is also the district capital in the Western Region.
IMPORTANT ACCOMPLISHMENTS OVER THE YEARS
The performance of applicants in the final test has improved every year since 2005. The majority of applicants each year get accepted into universities and other educational institutions. The institution has been able to produce both men and women who have been holding significant positions in society since its modest beginnings.
SCHOOL AND PROGRAMS
There are now five programs available at the school: General Arts, Science, Agriculture, Home Economics, and Technical.
1. General Arts – Government, Economics, Geography, Elective Mathematics, and English Literature.
2. General Science – Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Elective Mathematics.
3. Agriculture – General agriculture, horticulture, Chemistry, and Physics.
4. Home Economics – Foods and nutrition, living management, and General knowledge of art and biology
5. Technical Program: Elective Mathematics, Physics, Building Construction, Technical Drawing, and Woodworking
