Daniel Amartey has agreed a move to the Turkish top-flight after a successful campaign in the English Premier League. The defender has seen his contract with relegated Leicester City FC elapsed and now a free agent.
The Black Stars center-back has met with representatives of Besiktas with talks well advanced. He has agreed a three-year deal awaiting completion of table talks.
The 30-year-old despite being a free agent, was linked to several European clubs in the ongoing summer transfer. The right-footed defender was strongly linked to Scottish giants, Rangers after former manager, Brendan Rodgers was reappointed as the head coach of the side.
However, Amartey has opted to move to join Besiktas on a free transfer. He is expected to complete his move next week.
Amartey won the English Premier award with Leicester City as well as the FA Cup.
He is a key member for the Ghana national team, the Black Stars and was a part of the squad that featured at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
