The Convocation Board of Takoradi Technical University, which consists of nine freshly elected members, has taken office.
At the second convocation meeting of the 2022–2023 academic year, the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Victor Kweku Bondzie Micah inaugurated the Convocation Board, which is chaired by former vice dean of students and the head of the Hospitality, Catering and Institutional Management Department, Dr. Adelaide Spio-Kwofie.
In her acceptance speech, Dr. Adelaide Spio-Kwofie, the chair of the new Convocation Board, thanked the university community for the chance to serve and vowed to live up to expectations.
We sincerely appreciate you all putting your faith and confidence in us by giving us the opportunity to serve in this role. Let me also use this occasion to recognize the fantastic and admirable efforts made by the previous generation of leaders.
Indeed, you provide us with motivation, a challenge, and a way to carry on the amazing work you started. However, I am confident that with this team, we can build on your successes and reach even greater heights,” she said.
Dr. Adelaide Spio-Kwofie advised the Convocation Board to work together regardless of personal differences in viewpoint and orientation in order to advance TTU’s mission during their three-year stewardship.
“I don’t want to pretend that there won’t occasionally be differences in viewpoints; it’s just normal and good for these to emerge openly without being suppressed. Our organization’s maturity and the leadership’s vision may be judged by our capacity to recognize the problems caused by our diversity, address them in an open, honest manner, and come up with cooperative solutions that will allow us to advance together.
We can only achieve our shared goals by working together. In carrying out our mandate as outlined in both the Technical Universities Act 2016 and the Takoradi Technical University Statutes 2020, we will serve as your voice and principal advocate. We won’t promise you a bed of roses, but we will guarantee that by the end of our term, there will be notable successes.
