Accra will host a pivotal two-day meeting between the Federation Internationale de Football Associations (FIFA) and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on October 31 and November 1, 2024, to discuss the implementation of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology in Ghana’s domestic leagues.

The session will focus on the comprehensive planning and dependencies required for the successful integration of VAR in the Ghana Premier League and other domestic leagues.
FIFA representatives, along with GFA officials, will carefully evaluate the resources, technical aspects, and operational procedures needed for a seamless execution of the technology.
If approved, the project will set in motion VAR’s introduction to Ghana’s football landscape, promising enhanced accuracy in officiating and game management.
This meeting underscores FIFA’s commitment to advancing football standards globally and marks an exciting development in Ghana’s ongoing efforts to elevate the quality and fairness of its domestic leagues
