Becoming a mainstream artiste isn’t something to play with. It takes a lot to be up there with the very honchos in the industry. From recording to publishing and promotions, it takes a lot.
Vodafone Ghana Music Awards being the biggest music awards scheme in Ghana, arguably, decided to help talents finding it difficult to break barriers.
With this, they partnered Closeup toothpaste to birth the “Unsung Act of the Year” category during the 2014 VGMA.
The sole motive is to serve as a springboard for talents to break barriers with their music.
Nominees in the category every year perform to thousands of audience during the Nominees Jam and the eventual winner performs at the main event to a whole of industry players and audience.
Unsung category sponsored by Closeup toothpaste, the iconic youth brand, partners Charterhouse to provide a more rewarding and exciting experience for underground acts seeking to break into mainstream music.
The Unsung is an initiative to project artistes who are doing well but have not had the exposure.
