The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set to meet with Accra Hearts of Oak SC and Asante Kotoko SC on Monday, February 17, 2025, to deliberate on the remaining proposals submitted by the two clubs.

This engagement follows extensive discussions on various aspects of the proposals, with the GFA having already addressed all safety and security concerns through the newly introduced Enhanced Matchday Safety and Security Protocol 2025.

This protocol has been shared with all Premier League clubs and relevant stakeholders to ensure a safer matchday experience.

One of the key initiatives spearheaded by the FA President and the Executive Council, the Autonomous Premier League, has already been formally established as a company under Ghanaian law.

The league’s bank accounts have also been opened by the Implementation Committee, led by His Majesty Togbe Afede XIV. The GFA has effectively transferred control of the Autonomous Premier League Limited to the clubs, with each of the 18 Premier League clubs required to submit a board representative to serve as a director of the new league entity.

The Football Association remains committed to promoting and facilitating the successful implementation of the Autonomous Premier League. Monday’s meeting with Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko is part of ongoing efforts to ensure smooth collaboration and address any outstanding concerns.

Additionally, the GFA looks forward to engaging with all Premier League clubs in the coming week to discuss the Enhanced Matchday Safety and Security Protocols and other pressing matters related to the Ghana Premier League.

With these developments, Ghanaian club football is on the verge of a significant transformation, promising better governance, enhanced security, and a more structured league system that benefits all stakeholders.
