While Paa Kwesi Fabin, a former coach of Aduana FC, guided Legon Cities to an incredible come-from-behind 2-1 victory against Karela United on Sunday, Tanko, a former Black Stars assistant coach, led his team to an impressive 2-2 draw against champions Medeama SC on Wednesday at Akoon Park.

In their maiden season in the betPawa premier league (2021/22) Accra Lions defeated Legon Cities twice in a row. Accra Lions triumphed at Accra Sports Stadium during the same season, but Legon Cities defeated them at El- Wak Stadium.
Ibrahim Tanko, the head coach of the Accra Lions, can rely on recent additions Abdul Shakun Abubakari (Steadfast FC) and Yahaya Mohammed (Tamale City).
