Following a significant development marking a new chapter for Accra Hearts of Oak SC Plc, the majority owners, Strategic Initiatives Ltd and Strategic African Securities Ltd, have announced the appointment of directors following the dissolution of the Board on February 27, 2024.
In accordance with Section 171 (1) of the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992), which stipulates the requirement for at least two directors, with one being ordinarily resident in Ghana, the majority owners have strategically selected individuals to guide the destiny of the esteemed football club.
The first appointment is Togbe Afede XIV, Chairman of Strategic Initiatives Ltd, who will not only resume his role as Executive Chairman but also bring his wealth of experience and leadership to steer the strategic initiatives of Hearts of Oak SC Plc.
The second appointee is Delali Anku-Adiamah, the Managing Director of Accra Hearts of Oak SC Plc. Anku-Adiamah’s elevation to the directorial position marks a continuation of his dedicated service to the club. His role as Managing Director has been integral to the club’s operations, and as a director, he is expected to contribute further to the success and growth of the football institution.
The announcement signals a deliberate move by Hearts of Oak SC Plc to ensure a leadership structure that aligns with legal requirements while also securing individuals with a deep understanding of the club’s dynamics and ambitions.
