The Mpohor District Police Command is now holding a young guy in his early 30s for murdering his wife after she threatened to file for divorce.
The incident took place at Wiredukrom, a neighborhood close to Wassa Manso in the Western region’s Mpohor district.
Atta Sani, the suspect, is alleged to have broken up with his wife just before committing the act, according to reports.
Maame Ama, 25, who died, according to a family member who described the incident to Connect FM’s Omanbapa morning show team, Kwaku Adams, fled her marital home after complaining that her husband had been assaulting her.
He continues by saying that she has been living in the same neighborhood with someone else for a few days now following another incident of abuse from her husband.
Because of recent issues where the husband attacks her over every little thing, my sister had become weary of the marriage. We have been preparing for it since she told us that she intends to end the marriage. Since leaving her marital home, she has been finding serenity in the home of another woman living in the same neighborhood. Her husband attacked her while pretending to discuss a crucial matter with her, the speaker said.
He continues by saying that his late sister accompanied the suspect to his house with their two-year-old child in an innocent manner.
“She thought they were going to talk about something important when she accompanied him into their room with their two-year-old boy, but he butchered her to death. The two were arguing in the room, according to the neighbors, who afterward realized he had butchered her. He fled, leaving the two-year-old toddler next to the mother’s dead body, the witness continued.
The deceased’s body was later placed at the morgue, and the suspect is now helping the police with their inquiries.
The couple has three kids, the oldest of whom is eight years old and the youngest of whom is just two.
