Key Meetings
One week after Chelsea’s matchup with Liverpool on the first day of the season, we get to watch another new manager at a London club get to show off their skills against a big-six team as Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham take on Man Utd.
Newcastle will play Man City at the Etihad Stadium on that same day.
Before the September international break, Manchester United will play Arsenal in the capital, with the first north London derby of the year taking place later in the month.
Then, at the start of October, right before an international break, the Gunners host championship rivals Man City at the Emirates Stadium. Mikel Arteta’s team will then go to Chelsea after the club season resumes.
On the last weekend of October, the first Manchester derby of the season is played, with the rematch scheduled for the first weekend of March.
At the end of November, Liverpool plays at Man City before going up against Man Utd at Anfield a few weeks later and hosting Arsenal in the last matchup before Christmas.
The next few weeks of the season will see a number of enormous games. On the penultimate weekend of the season, Arsenal travels to Manchester United, and it’s conceivable that they may be battling for the championship.
Given that they will play four of the top six teams from last season in their final six games, Tottenham might have a significant impact on the title race even if they are not participating.
