The Joseph and Elizabeth Quansah Foundation, a non-profit organization with headquarters in the United States, has awarded its latest laptop to Mabel Wiafe, a student at TTU studying hospitality management.
Mabel was chosen as one of the 2023 recipients of the computers from the JEQ Foundation due to her excellent academic standing and volunteer efforts in her neighborhood.
Prof. Joseph Emmanuel Quansah, co-founder and co-president of the JEQ Foundation, said during the presentation of the computer that the Foundation is devoted to providing as much support to deserving students as possible so that they can advance academically.
Prof. Quansah called on the business community to support the project so they can support more students, noting that 43 students from different institutions and colleges have already received scholarship funding totaling $85,000 from the Foundation since 2019.
He pleaded, “Ghanaian business institutions must come on board to achieve this purpose of aiding these people. There are really talented pupils who lack the resources to reach educational greatness.
Hilvagard Maisha Musah, a former TTU student who now receives support from the JEQ Foundation, thanked the Foundation’s sponsors and urged deserving students to visit the Foundation’s website to learn more about how they can also receive assistance from the Foundation and to volunteer their time in the neighborhood.
Excellence-driven students from five other universities, including Takoradi Technical University’s Mabel Wiafe, also won brand-new laptops.
