The top 10 teams in the Betpawa Premier League will get financial incentives, according to the Ghana Football Association (GFA). GFA President Kurt E.S. Okraku made the declaration at a press conference held at the Premier Hotel in Koforidua.
President Okraku noted that the decision to implement financial incentives aims to encourage and inspire teams to raise their standards in the league in his remarks to representatives from various media agencies.
The program will help teams that are trying to succeed by giving them an extra boost, but it will also advance Ghanaian football as a whole.
The GFA will distribute financial awards to the clubs finishing in the top 10 spots of the BetPawa Premier League standings at the conclusion of the season under the new program, in collaboration with sponsors and stakeholders.
A structured distribution mechanism will be used for the distribution of funds, rewarding clubs with larger sums for placing higher on the league table.
Previously, the money was awarded from first to fourth place, but for the 2023–24 campaign season, there has been a significant upgrade, and the money will now be distributed from first to tenth place.
President Okraku stressed that this action is part of the GFA’s commitment to raising the bar and increasing Ghanaian football’s level of competition.
He said that by introducing financial rewards for the top 10 teams, we create a positive incentive for clubs to perform at their peak and raise the standard of our football as a whole,” he said. This project supports our objective of fostering a competitive.
Below is how the money will be awarded per the 1st position to the 10th position in the Ghana Premier League 2023-24 season.
