Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that his tenure at the Premier League club will mark the end of his career in club management.
Speaking to reporters, Guardiola clarified his long-term intentions, ruling out the possibility of managing another club after his time with Manchester City.
āIām not going to manage another team,ā Guardiola said. āIām not talking about the long-term future, but what Iām not going to do is leave Man City, go to another country, and do the same thing as now.ā
The 52-year-old Spaniard, widely regarded as one of the most successful managers in football history, cited a lack of energy and enthusiasm for starting anew at another club as a key factor in his decision.
āI wouldnāt have the energy,ā Guardiola admitted. āThe thought of starting somewhere else, all the process of training and so on… No, no, no!ā
However, Guardiola did not entirely rule out a move into international football, noting that managing a national team might appeal to him due to the different demands and structure compared to club football.
Under Guardiolaās leadership since 2016, Manchester City has enjoyed unprecedented success, including six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, and a historic UEFA Champions League victory in 2023, which helped secure a treble for the club.
This announcement marks the beginning of what could be the final chapter in Guardiolaās illustrious managerial career, with City fans now cherishing every moment he spends at the helm of the club.
