President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo recently unveiled a statue of himself at the entrance of Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi, marking the beginning of his one-day “thank you” tour of the Western Region. This gesture is a symbol of appreciation for the region’s support, and it also highlights some of the key initiatives undertaken by his administration, including the rehabilitation of the hospital, construction of a 3-tier Sinohydro interchange, and redevelopment of the Takoradi Market Circle ¹.
Notably, Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah emphasized that these projects demonstrate the president’s commitment to the region’s development. However, it’s worth mentioning that some of these projects remain incomplete, with some having come to a halt.
During his address to residents in Takoradi, President Akufo-Addo reflected on his achievements since taking office, claiming to have fulfilled 80% of his promises to Ghanaians. He urged voters to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming elections, emphasizing that this would ensure the continuation of his administration’s initiatives.
The president also proudly highlighted the Free SHS policy as his most significant legacy, citing its transformative impact across the country. This policy has made senior high school education accessible to many Ghanaian children, regardless of their financial background.
In line with his vision for Ghana’s development, President Akufo-Addo has been working to improve various sectors, including healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure. His administration has made significant strides in expanding access to healthcare, improving food production, and upgrading the country’s infrastructure.
Looking ahead, President Akufo-Addo remains committed to building a prosperous Ghana, where citizens can thrive and contribute meaningfully to the country’s growth. His focus on self-reliance and enterprise is expected to drive Ghana’s development and position the country as a significant player in the regional and global economy.
