SKYY FC Return to Fortress Daboase for 2025/26 Division One League Season

In a move that promises to reignite their stronghold and home dominance, SKYY Football Club have officially confirmed a return to their traditional base, St. Martin’s Park in Daboase, for the upcoming 2025/26 Access Bank Division One League season.

The decision marks a nostalgic and strategic shift for the club, as St. Martin’s Park has long been regarded as a fortress since SKYY FC’s promotion to Ghana’s second-tier league in 2017. Remarkably, the club has only suffered two competitive defeats at the venue in all those years — against Swedru All Blacks United and Rospak Sporting Club — underscoring the ground’s formidable reputation.

The return to Daboase is seen by many as a bold statement of intent by the club as they seek to recapture their old form and possibly push for Premier League qualification in the near future.

In a further twist to their preparations, sources close to the club reveal that SKYY FC will not hold a traditional ‘justify-your-inclusion’ session this preseason, a break from the norm that suggests the technical team is focused on consistency and core squad development.

Additionally, plans are underway for the team to conduct their preseason camp outside the Western Region, likely to expose players to a new environment and tougher preparatory tests ahead of the season’s kick-off.

Fans and football enthusiasts in the Wassa East District are buzzing with excitement as the return to St. Martin’s Park is expected to restore thrilling matchday atmospheres and community engagement that had waned in recent seasons.

With the stage set and the club returning to its spiritual home, the 2025/26 season could well mark the beginning of a new era for SKYY FC.
