Stonebwoy Crowned Artiste of the Year at 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards

In a night filled with glitz and glamour, Stonebwoy solidified his status as one of Ghana’s most dedicated and successful musicians by winning the Artiste of the Year at the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards. This marks the second time Stonebwoy has received this prestigious award, having first won it in 2015.

The “Into the Future” artist triumphed over strong contenders including King Promise, who many had predicted to win, as well as gospel singer Nacee, rapper Sarkodie, Kuami Eugene, and Black Sherif. The event, held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), celebrated its silver anniversary with a spectacular showcase of talent.

Stonebwoy walked away with an impressive six awards in total. In addition to Artiste of the Year, he won Best International Collaboration for “Manodzi” featuring Angelique Kidjo, Songwriter of the Year, Record of the Year, Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year, and Album/EP of the Year. His victories at the awards place him in an elite group of artists, including Sarkodie and VIP, who have won the Artiste of the Year accolade twice.

Other notable winners included King Paluta, Olive The Boy, Kofi Karkari, Queendalyn Yurglee, Kuami Eugene, Sarkodie, Nacee, Amerado, and Black Sherif. The night was also marked by electrifying performances from artists such as Efya, King Paluta, Kuami Eugene, Amerado, and the legendary Amakye Dede, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Born Livingstone Etse Satekla, Stonebwoy has built a remarkable career over the past decade. Known for his energetic live performances and chart-topping hits such as “Ololo,” “Run Go,” and “Mane Me,” he has collaborated with international stars like Sean Paul and Morgan Heritage. Stonebwoy’s influence extends beyond music, as he has been recognized as one of the most influential people in Ghana.

The 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards not only celebrated the achievements of the past year but also highlighted the bright future of Ghanaian music. Stonebwoy’s continued success serves as an inspiration to upcoming artists and a testament to the vibrancy of the Ghanaian music scene.
