The Sudanese FA has announced the appointment of seasoned Ghanaian coach James Kwesi Appiah as their new head coach of the nation, according to African football journalist Micky Junior.
According to reports, Kwesi Appiah and the Sudan FA have reached a three-year contract agreement.
Kwesi Appiah was employed by Al Khartoum in the Sudan in 2014 as a coach. The Asante Kotoko Interim Management Committee most recently appointed him.
The seasoned gaffer has vast coaching experience, having stepped in from 2007 to 2012 for foreigners Claude Le Roy and Milovan Rajevac.
Under his permanent direction, the team qualified for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil in 2012, becoming him the first Black African coach to do so.
He led the U-23 team from Ghana to victory in the All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique, in 2011.
He resigned from his position as manager for Ghana amicably in September 2014.
When he was reappointed as the Black Stars manager in April 2017, he took Avram Grant’s place, but he was fired in January 2020.
