Deputy Finance Minister Dr. Alex Ampaabeng has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to delivering on its promises, citing key economic achievements at the Eastern Region Townhall Meeting in Koforidua on September 3, 2024.
“We have delivered, and we will continue to do more for the people of Ghana,” Dr. Ampaabeng emphasized, highlighting the government’s economic policies, which have yielded positive results across various sectors.
Ghana’s economy is on a strong recovery path, evident in the declining inflation rate, quarter-on-quarter GDP growth rate, and balance of trade surplus. These indicators demonstrate the government’s dedication to sound economic management and citizen well-being.
Dr. Ampaabeng noted that inflation has significantly declined from 54% in November 2022 to 20.9% in July 2024, indicating a path to sustained recovery. The government aims to achieve an end-of-year target of 15% ± 2%.
The Deputy Finance Minister also highlighted the stable supply of electricity, a cornerstone of the government’s efforts to support businesses and improve quality of life.
Minister for Information Fatimatu Abubakar emphasized the significance of town hall meetings in promoting government transparency and accountability, allowing citizens to engage with officials, ask questions, and receive updates on government projects and policies.
The Eastern Region Townhall Meeting is part of a series of events aimed at promoting citizen engagement and inclusive governance, fostering trust and ensuring citizens are informed about regional initiatives.
