An interview aired on DELAY TV(YouTube) on January 15, 2023 saw Ghanaian actor/skit maker, Ras Nene (Dr.Likee) shared a lot of struggles he’s been through.
Ras Nene has become one of the YouTube sensations in the Ghanaian scene since he started his comedy skits which he has featured many stars like Amerado, Fameye, Kuami Eugene and many more.
Speaking on “The Delay Show”, he struck on a lot of issues, from how he left home for street after Junior High School, involvement in drugs, trekking to Libya, venturing into galamsey,etc.
On the 24th minute mark of the video, the comic actor detailed how he started his YouTube journey.
During my days on the street, I had much money on me, a friend called Louis had secured Chinese Visa but had no money for plane ticket so I helped him. He returned from China just to take me there, at a time he arrived I had lost everything due to the galamsey I involved myself in. Louis then took me to China where I met Wode Maya and he advised me to try YouTube.I queried, how, because my educational level is not like yours but he still asked me to try. Again, I saw it to be a long process so I didn’t give much thought to it. He(Wode Maya) opened a channel on my phone for me.When I returned from China, a friend called Polino also talked about the same thing to Kyenkyenaa Twan and I.
Kyenkyenaa Twan suggested we open a joint channel, but I asked him to open his and let’s built his even though I already had a channel on my phone. So when his gained grounds we used that as a springboard to push mine. That’s how it all started.
