Mexico defeated Ghana 2-0 in an international friendly match at the Bank of America stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, with goals from Hirving Lozano and Antuna Romero.

The first goal was scored by Lozano in the 57th minute, while the second was scored by Antuna in the 72nd minute.

Stephan Ambrosius, Nicholas Opoku, and Joseph Aidoo made up Ghana’s starting three defenders, with Thomas Partey and Elisha Owusu working together in midfield.

Kingsley Schindler and Gideon Mensah played as wingbacks, Mohammed Kudus and Joseph Painstil operated on each wing, and Antoine Semenyo served as the line’s captain.

Although the Black Stars had a strong start to the game, Joseph Painstil’s cross in the 14th minute eluded everyone and went out of play.

In the 27th minute, Ghana was forced to make a substitution as Alidu Seidu replaced Joseph Aidoo due to a potential ligament injury.

The Black Stars appeared composed at the back and had control of crucial situations, but they lacked the offensive firepower to hurt their opponents.

Salis Abdul Samed replaced Thomas Partey after the break, but Mexico continued to exert pressure, and in the 57th minute, Hirvin Lozano scored after a deft move from midfield gave his team the lead.

Kingsley Schindler, Joseph Painstil, and Antoine Semenyo were substituted for Ernest Nuamah, Jordan Ayew, and Inaki Williams by Ghana coach Chris Hughton.

Antuna Romero of Mexico raised the score in the 72nd minute. The substitute expertly handled a midfield pass before putting the ball past Lawrence Ati-Zigi of Ghana.

Men from Ghana tried to shift the game’s dynamics by pushing forward, but Mexico held on to defeat Ghana for the fourth time in a row.

On Tuesday, October 17,2023, the Black Stars will play against the Americans at GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tennessee.
