This morning, Sunday, May 28, 2023, Archbishop Dr. Charles Agyinssare spoke about his remarks on Nogokpo.
“I have gotten calls from family members and close friends, and social media discussion on some of my remarks from this past Thursday’s Supernatural Empowerment Summit at the Perez Dome has caught my notice.
Speaking about the divine protection that Christians receive from God, I instructed the congregation on the necessity of enacting divine defense against demonic assaults. As Charismatic Christians, this is one of our guiding principles.
I used various situations where I came across demonstrations of demonic powers during my crusades, which took me to more than 92 different nations, to emphasize my argument. I used the example of individuals trying to lift themselves during a crusade in India. I used the attack I endured when I was a very young pastor and went to preach at a bus stop near Korle Bu as an example.
I want to make it clear that when I mentioned Nogokpo, I never meant to refer to the town itself but rather to an event that took place following a crusade at Aflao. I had absolutely no desire to disparage the residents of Nogokpo Town or the Volta Region in general.
The people of the Volta Region and I have a very good rapport. My 38-year-old wife is an Ewe from Keta. And the names of two of my sons are Ewe. All of the examples I used were meant to help attendees understand the idea of divine protection rather than to disparage any of the communities or the people who live there.
We apologize any misstatement or inaccurate information that has appeared in the commentary and reporting that has come after.
As a spiritual gatekeeper for the past 40 years, my ministry has spoken out during pivotal moments for our country. I am still dedicated to serve God’s people and our country as the spirit leads.
