Bukayo Saka, a winger for Arsenal and England, has agreed to a new four-year contract with the Gunners. Saka, 21, is the first player in the Premier League to have double-digit goal and assist totals this season. His new contract with Arsenal runs through 2027.
The new contract is a big win for Arsenal and manager Mikel Arteta because Saka’s previous term was set to expire at the end of the upcoming season.
The 21-year-old has established himself as a crucial member of Gareth Southgate’s England squad since the 2021 European Championships and has been one of Arsenal’s top players over the past two seasons.
Saka has contributed to 11 assists and 14 goals in all competitions for Arsenal this season. He also led the team in scoring previous season with 24 goals.
Saka’s outstanding campaign for Arsenal also earned him nominations for the Premier League Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season honors. Saka has also committed his future to the north London club, joining Aaron Ramsdale and Gabriel Martinelli.
According to Saka, “I’m just really happy,” the Arsenal website. It’s been a long and there has been a lot of talking, but I’m finally here. I believe that joining this group and moving further here is the appropriate decision. Look at this gorgeous club; this is where we are.
“For me, it’s about fulfilling my personal goals; it’s about how hard I work and how much I expect of myself throughout every game, week in and week out. When I’m at practice, my teammates, the coaching staff, and my family are all the right individuals to have around me.
“I really believe that we can accomplish great things, and I think I have everything I need to become the best player I can be,” said the athlete. “That’s why I’m happy to stay here and be here for the future.”
