The Ghana Center for Democratic Development(CDD-Ghana) has embarked on a series of regional Base Dialogues to advocate for electoral reforms ahead of the 2024 general elections.
The Ashanti Regional dialogue took place on July 4,2024,at the Royal Lamerta Hotel.
The dialogue brought together stakeholders from various sectors, including political parties, civil society organizations,and the media,to discuss key issues affecting the country’s electoral process.
The theme for the programme is implementing election observation recommendation for transparent, credible, inclusive and peaceful elections in Ghana.
Addressing the audience, the Director of Policy Engagement and Partnerships for CDD, Dr. Kojo Asante, indicated that CDD-Ghana will engage the authority of the Electoral Commission of Ghana,ono-on-one engagement the leadership of the various political parties,as well as all stakeholders who are directly involved in the electoral process of the country.
The dialogue also sought to identify challenges threatening the integrity of Ghana’s elections, engage stakeholders in shaping the future of Ghana’s democracy and so on and so forth.
Dr. Kojo Asante noted that Electoral Reforms are crucial to ensuring the integrity and credibility of our elections, adding that we must work together to build a stronger democracy for Ghana.
