Chris Hughton announces squad for Mexico and USA friendlies

For this month’s international friendlies against Mexico and the United States of America, Chris Hughton has called up 23 players.

Tariq Lamptey, a defender for Brighton and Hove Albion, has rejoined the team after an outstanding start to the English season. Lamptey had a difficult season last year and was forced to sit out for nearly six months as a result of injuries.

Thomas Teye Partey, the deputy captain, is also on the team despite missing the qualifying match against Central African Republic due to injury.

Prior to playing the United States of America on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 in Nashville, Tennessee, Ghana will play Mexico in Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium on Saturday, October 14.

The two friendlies are anticipated to be used by head coach Chris Hughton as a prelude to the November FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers and the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire.
