Emmanuel Owusu, a standout talent from Fijai United Soccer Academy, has made a significant impact at his new club, Foxes FC in Dubai, just three months after his transfer. Owusu, who joined Foxes FC earlier this year, has already helped his team secure two trophies, marking a remarkable start to his career abroad.
Owusu is one of three players from Fijai United Soccer Academy who have moved to international clubs in 2024. His journey began with an impressive stint at Fijai United, where he scored six goals in eight matches during the 2023/24 Division Two season. His remarkable performance caught the attention of Foxes FC, leading to his transfer three months ago.
Before joining Fijai United Soccer Academy, Owusu played for Mpintim Villa Afrique, making his move to Fijai in November 2023. Known for its commitment to developing and transferring players, Fijai United Soccer Academy has once again proven its ability to nurture talent ready for the professional stage.
Club President Jacob Wemegah acknowledged that Owusu’s departure had an impact on the team’s performance this season. “His transfer was one of the factors that affected the team’s performance in the league this season,” Wemegah said. “But we are still happy that all these players will play at the professional level.”
Wemegah expressed optimism about the future, noting that the academy is focused on filling the void left by their departing strikers. “We hope that very soon, we will be able to fill the vacuum created in the area of strikers,” he added.
Owusu’s success story highlights the effective development program at Fijai United Soccer Academy and its mission to produce players capable of succeeding on the global stage. As he continues to excel with Foxes FC, Owusu serves as an inspiration for young talents back home and a testament to the academy’s dedication to fostering football excellence.
