Civilization they say started from Africa, but from the look of things, it seem the opposite.
Most African countries import most of the products they use in their countries.
Now, when it comes to elements that makes Africans stand out like their fabrics and traditional symbols, it seems it’s just slipping from their hands.
Ghanaian broadcaster and fashion icon, Kofi Okyere-Darko aka KOD, talks about how foreigners are biting Ghanaian fashion and making them theirs.
In a documentary with Face2FaceAfrica, the fashion icon bemoaned on how Ghana don’t even have any patent for the tradition and famous “Kente” which many knows it comes from Ghana.
He affirmed that, people only talk about it being a Ghanaian thing but nothing to show and that’s why other countries are now printing and selling “Kente” without even crediting Ghana.
The CEO of clothing line, Nineteen 57, then urged all Africans in the creative arts space to go all out and own what theirs and do so proudly.
