The Manhyia Palace has dissolved Asante Kotoko’s 12-member board, according to information that has reached the desk of sstvgh.com.
Prior to the 2023–24 season, the owners of Asante Kotoko, Manhyia Palace, opted to overhaul the club’s administration by dissolving the board chaired by Ghanaian business magnate Dr. Kwame Kyei.
The Manhyia Palace established the 12-member Asante Kotoko board in May 2020 in accordance with the recommendations of the committee, which was made up of three members and was led by Prof. Lydia Nkansah, a lecturer at KNUST.
The members of the board were Dr. Kwame Kyei, who served as board chairman; Mr. Jude Arthur, who served as vice chairman; Kwadwo Boateng Gyamfi; Kwasi Osei Ofori; Kwamena Mensah; Miss Evelyn Nsiah Asare; Mr. Kofi Amoah Abban; Mr. Martin Osei Kwaku Brobbey; Mr. James Osei Brown; Nana Ankobe.
Additionally, the Nana Yaw Amponsah-led Asante Kotoko management has been disbanded.
The Porcupine Warriors were able to win the Ghana Premier League title in 2021–2022, which was won by Asante Kotoko throughout the three years of their board’s control.
