Bofoakwa Tano is the most recent team from the Brong Ahafo region to make their debut in the Ghana Premier League.
While Bibiani Goldstars beat Kumasi Asante Kotoko 2-1 at Bibiani Dun’s Park on Saturday with Eric Bosomtwi and Prince Owusu Kwabena strucking the goals to give Bibiani GoldStars its first victory of the year over Asante Kotoko. Sherrif Mohammed scored the Kotoko goal.
Accra Hearts of Oak, Aduana FC, Bechem United, Nations FC, and Karela United all triumphed in the six betPawa Premier League games that were played on Sunday.
Six games were played, with five home victories and a goalless away tie. A total of ten goals were scored in those six games.
Accra Hearts of Oak defeated a resolute Nsoatreman FC team 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium to avenge their opening-day loss.
Ramos Kashala of the DR Congo scored the game’s lone goal for the Phobians in the third minute to give the capital club all three points.
Aduana FC defeated reigning champions Medeama SC 2-0 at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park, Dormaa-Ahenkro, in another team’s comeback from opening-game loss.
In the 53rd and 80th minutes, Bright Adjei scored both goals to give the Fire Lads all three points.
Bechem United also overcame an opening game loss by defeating FA Cup champion Dreams FC 1-0 at home in Bechem’s Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
The Hunters’ lone goal was scored in the 66th minute by Seth Kwadwo Osei.
Karela United defeated Berekum Chelsea 3-1 at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale thanks to goals from Evans Adomako (brace), in the 22nd and 55th minutes, and George Amamoo, in the 63rd minutes.
At the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, Abrankese, Kumasi, newly promoted Nations FC, defeated FC Samartex by a score of 2-0, an excellent home victory.
Accra Great Olympics and Kpando Heart of Lions’ match at the WAFA Park in Sogakope, which ended in a scoreless tie, was the only game on Sunday that did not feature a goal or a winner.
Accra Lions and Legon Cities will face each other for the last game on match day 2 on Monday at 3:00 GMT.
