RTU Issues Unqualified Apology for Misconduct in Fixture Against Dreams FC

Real Tamale United Football Club (RTU) has issued an unqualified apology following the events of their fixture against Dreams FC on June 12, 2024, in Dawu. The club’s management extended their heartfelt apologies to the Ghana Football Association (GFA), their supporters, and the general public for the misconduct involving the use of unregistered players during the match.

In their official statement, RTU emphasized that the incident was not deliberate and was never intended to bring disrepute to the sport. The club acknowledged the serious nature of the charges from the GFA and expressed deep regret over the situation.

“The above action was NEVER deliberate and was NEVER intended to ridicule our beautiful game,” RTU stated, highlighting that the club has faced numerous challenges this year, contributing to their current struggle in the Premier League.

RTU’s management also appealed for understanding and leniency from the GFA and the public, expressing their commitment to reorganizing and rebuilding the team. “The club, however, courts for mercy and sympathy from the general public and the GFA as we strive to reorganize and build a team that all of us will be proud of,” the statement read.

The club assured all stakeholders that such an incident would not occur again, reiterating their dedication to upholding the integrity of Ghanaian football. “We express our regret again and that this will NEVER happen again. The club is SORRY.”

RTU concluded their apology by affirming their support for Ghanaian football and their determination to return stronger in the future. “Long Live Ghana Football! Long Live RTU!”
