Coach Umar Rabi has tendered in his resignation after matchday 19 game against RTU at the Aliu Mahama stadium in Tamale, club statement confirms. The game ended 1-1 with Medeama trailing right from the 3rd minute with a goal from Mankuyeli. They equalized in minute 71′ with a goal from winger, Fordjour.
The announcement from Medeama SC came almost two hours just after the game, this has left some Medeama SC fans so dumbfounded
According to the statement from the club on their twitter page, reasons for his resignation wasn’t stated but they noted there won’t be further comments on the situation for now.
Coach Umar Rabi took over from David Duncan in November 2022 after Medeama went four games (two games at home, two games on away ground) without a point.
He has then played 13 games with Medeama, 6 wins, 4 draws, and 3 losses. Medeama currently sits 7th 9n the Betpawa Premier League league table with 28 points, scoring 19 and conceding 17 (+2).
He got lambasted by fans after losing to Hearts Of Oak, some fans even went to their training grounds the next day to stop him from training with the boys. He has then gone 5 matches unbeaten, winning 3 and drawing 2, amassing 11 points out of the possible 15.
