The Western Regional Football Association (WRFA) has officially confirmed that all Division Two clubs that have qualified for the upcoming Super Middle League will be required to pay a participation fee of GHC 5,000.
The decision forms part of the Association’s preparations toward organizing a competitive and well-structured regional championship, which serves as a crucial pathway for promotion into Division One football in Ghana.
According to the WRFA, the 2026 Super Middle League will be staged at the Axim Sports Complex, a venue known for hosting key football competitions in the Western Region. The choice of Axim is expected to provide a neutral and competitive ground for all participating clubs.
The middle league will kickstart on the 10th April, 2026. The decision has been communicated to the qualified teams at today’s meeting at the Sekondi Gyandu Park.
Officials believe the participation fee will help cover essential organizational costs, including officiating, logistics, security, and general matchday arrangements, ensuring a smooth and professional tournament.
The Super Middle League remains one of the most highly anticipated competitions at the regional level, bringing together top-performing Division Two clubs to battle for a place in the national Division One League.
Clubs, supporters, and stakeholders are now gearing up for what promises to be an exciting and fiercely contested tournament in Axim.
