Ghana’s push for a successful World Cup campaign has received a massive financial boost, as corporate institutions, business leaders, and entertainment icons rally behind the Black Stars through an unprecedented fundraising drive.

At the forefront of the donations is Engineers & Planners, which made a staggering contribution of $5 million, the single largest pledge so far. Close behind is Gold Fields Ghana with $2 million, alongside an additional commitment of $1 million earmarked for future Black Stars activities.

Other major contributors include Jewel Energy and Christian Salamony Game Technology, each donating $1 million and $2 million respectively, while an anonymous donor also pledged $1 million to the national cause.

Ghana’s entertainment industry has also played a significant role, with dancehall stars Shatta Wale contributing $100,000, and Stonebwoy donating $81,000 in cash plus an additional $20,000 campaign song production package to support promotional efforts.

Business mogul Alhaji Musah, through his Timeline and Innovation Company, added $300,000 to the fund, further highlighting the strong private sector involvement.

In the local currency category, KGL Group made a substantial contribution of GHC10 million, while Serene Insurancepledged GHC2 million alongside a GHC20 million insurance package to provide security and coverage for the team.

Additional support came from several indigenous businesses and individuals, including Icon Energy (GHC1 million), PayAngel (GHC100,000), Erata Motors (GHC200,000), and Nana Adjoo Baah (GHC150,000).

Smaller but meaningful contributions were also recorded from P & A African Food International and Degree Auto Mechanic, who jointly donated $15,000, as well as Abosokai Spare Parts Dealer with GHC500,000.

In total, the fundraising effort has amassed an impressive $12,096,000, in addition to $20,000 worth of campaign music production from Stonebwoy. Contributions in Ghana cedis have also reached GHC13,950,000, complemented by a GHC20 million insurance package to safeguard the team.

The initiative, aimed at supporting Ghana’s participation in the World Cup and facilitating fan travel, reflects a unified national spirit. Stakeholders say the overwhelming response underscores the deep passion Ghanaians have for football and their unwavering belief in the Black Stars.

As the tournament approaches, this remarkable show of solidarity from both corporate Ghana and the entertainment industry is expected to significantly boost team morale and ensure the Black Stars enjoy strong backing both on and off the pitch.
