Following the Europa League final on Wednesday night in Budapest, former Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho threw his runners-up medal into the crowd.
The famed Portuguese coach lost all control when his AS Roma team lost the much anticipated match against Sevilla.
Before this match, Mourinho had never lost a European championship game and had set his sights on winning another trophy for his team.
The fiery tactician was unable to handle the disappointment of losing the championship. Mourinho’s emotions overcame him as the medal was presented to him, and he abruptly threw it into the crowd, startling both spectators and fans.
Sevilla won the UEFA Europa League for a record-extending seventh time after defeating Roma 4-1 on penalties following a 1-1 deadlock.
