Ghanaian Afrobeats and Afropop singer, Camidoh, has revealed there’s no formula in music with regards to how a record can become a big hit.
In an Instagram story, he noted, every record can become a big hit and only marketing can define it better.
The ‘Sugarcane’ crooner went on to admonish that, “having 1M followers dies not mean one has 1M fans. Followers can be fans, friends, and fanfoolers”.
He continued that, “one’s talk is real and valid only if it stands firm and solid so fellow artiste should be quiet and put in the works”.
Few days ago, George Britton, manager of Camidoh revealed how much the spent on the artiste to get him on his current pedestal.
According to George Britton, Manager for Camidoh, they payed for promotions on both radio and TV in Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, the UK, and the US.
They also payed for online ads, social media influencers, and content creators in Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, the UK, the US, Tanzania, etc. Nightclubs and bars in Africa as well as the UK played a vital role.
In all, George Britton noted they spent Gh₵975,000 in a year for Camidoh to attain global success and become one of the Africa’s most streamed acts.According to George Britton, they achieved this by a collective effort with the incredible team behind Camidoh i.e., Grind Don’t Stop, GB Recz, and Crux Global.
