Obed Ackah was on 360 Power Sports 90.1, a Takoradi-based radio station on Tuesday, 29th August 2023.
Obed Ackah was double registered for Hasaacas per the ruling by the Disciplinary Committee of WRFA, and the Striker was banned for 1 year in all GFA organized competition in last season’s WRFA Division Two League.
Sedan Academy won their protest against Sekondi Hasaacas Fc for fielding an unqualified player. Sedan was awarded 3 points 3 goals. Hasaacas was deducted an additional 3 points from their accumulated points and fined ₵1000.
Obed was questioned over his performance and the ban from last season. Obed claimed that he had a fantastic relationship with Sedan Academy and was therefore surprised by their protest against him.
He wanted to reach his aims of scoring 25 goals in order to qualify for Division 1 with Sekondi Hasaacas.
He stated that even though there was hunger at Sekondi Hasaacas FC, he has never regretted playing for them.
He said again that when Sekondi Hasaacas was in the First division, the team didn’t have faith in him.
Obed said his career has been damaged by the one-year ban, and he is to blame for the one-year ban, together with Sekondi Hasaacas FC.
Due to a national team call-up, his name was changed from Obed Ackah to Obed Asamoah Ackah.
Obed said to SHAMMO that he played for Sekondi Hasaacas FC out of the love of the fans, not because of financial gain.
Obed Ackah said that there are many teams after his signature, but if Sedan Academy FC makes a good offer, he declared he would be thrilled to play for them.
