Member of Parliament for Takoradi constituency, who double as the Western Regional Minister, Hon. Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah has declared his intentions to keep being in the office.
Incumbent MP for Takoradi constituency, Hon. Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah, entered the parliament in January 7, 2009, on the ticked on the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He has then remain in parliament winning the subsequent elections (2012, 2016 & 2020). His recent will lend in January 2024, which means he would have then spent 16 years in parliament as MP for Takoradi constituency.
Many thought that will be all, but speaking in an interview on Fox FM, Hon. Okyere Darko noted he will be contesting in the forthcoming primaries by the ruling party, NPP.
Hon. Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah was appointed as deputy minister for aviation in 2017 by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo. He maintained that position until February 2019, when he was appointed Regional Minister for the Western Region.
He has also served in various committees like; the Subsidiary Legalisation Committee, the Education Committee, the Business Committee, and the Roads and Transport Committee in parliament.
