Under the European Union -Founded BRACE Program. Wacam, In Collaboration With A Rocha Ghana and Natural Development Foundation (NDF) organized a three days paralegal workshop for over 300 people who lives in the Mining communities in the Ashanti Region.
Addressing the media at the three days workshop that took place at Denyame Kumasi , the communication Officer for Wacam, Mr Dennis Atoh Keelson noted that the aim of these workshops is to support affected individuals seeking to protect their rights through paralegal training for justice.
He said Paralegal training aims to equip community leaders with basic legal knowledge and skills to identify and address instances of justice and abuse.
According to him, these paralegal training aims to strengthen the community leaders knowledge base, enable them to serve as focal persons, providing cost-effective legal advice and assistance to their community members and the communities they live in.
He therefore, lamented that the training also will organise communities to protect their rights, monitor and document human rights violations, provide basic information, and engage in alternative dispute resolution methods.
