Sampson Eduku, a striker from Tamale City, has been signed by Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya on a one-year agreement.
The 27-year-old has signed a one-year contract that is renewable at Baghdad.
After a standout campaign with Tamale City FC in the Ghana Premier League, Eduku is joining the Air Force team.
In 27 games in Ghana’s top division, the highly regarded forward scored 14 goals and contributed three assists. He also won four man of the match accolades during that time.
After playing for CI Kamsar in Guinea for one season, Eduku left the team and signed with Tamale City at the start of the 2022–23 season.
He also played for FC Samartex 1996, Sekondi Hasaacas, Elmina Sharks FC, and Karela United FC, giving him a wealth of experience in the sport.
African clubs and Ghanaian powerhouse Hearts of Oak were vying for the talented attacker.
Eduku joins former Berekum Chelsea defender Wilson Akakpo and former Black Stars midfielder Afriyie Acquah as the third player from Ghana to play for Al-Jawiya.
The 2022–23 season saw the seven-time Iraqi champions finish in second place, and they will play in the Asian Champions League in the 2023-24 campaign.
